Who, what, where, when, why
WHO: We are Sven and Mary. One of our greatest passions is watching really great movies. Our decision to keep a library of physical media is based on many, many reasons. and they are discussed in this article here if you're interested.
WHAT: We are liquidating our entire collection of 15,000 DVD's, 2,500 Blu-Ray's. and 25,000 CD's. It is one of the largest privately owned collections in Vancouver and probably in the Pacific NW. It has been a work in progress for many years and has grown to the point where we had to build a separate building to hold it all.
WHERE: The sale is located at our home in the Felida area in north Vancouver near lake Vancouver. Major cross streets are Lakeshore Avenue and 99th St.
WHEN: Exact dates are not yet firmly established. If you are interested in attending please refer to the 'HOW' section below.
WHY: Why are we selling? First of all we are NOT selling because we have decided the technology is old and outdated. Because, quite to the contrary, physical media in the form of DVD's and Blu-Rays are still the highest form of technology available. Streaming is NOT OWNING. We want to OWN in every sense of the word.
So why are we selling? Simply because we are retired and no longer have the time to devote to this interest. other priorities have arisen and will demand a great deal of our time and undivided attention. Many friends and relatives have enjoyed the free access to the collection and we are sorry for not being able to continue.
HOW does the sale work?
In an effort to provide you the best customer service we will be providing access by BY APPOINTMENT ONLY ANY DAY OF THE WEEK FROM around 10am to 7:00pm
• This will allow you to shop in a relaxed atmosphere without the pressure of large crowds.
• To help you make the most of your visit, please explore the TITLES BY GENRE section. If you see titles you are fairly certain to purchase (pending your approval of the disc's condition) will will hold them for you until you arrive for your appointment
• The entire collection is organized by GENRE, ALPHABETICALLY, and most are separated by PG, PG-13, and R ratings. If you have specific titles you're interested in, it should be easy to see if they are available. Be sure to have your wish list ready.
• In the interest of giving everyone an opportunity to come, there is a possibility other guests will also be present at the same time as you, however we we will keep the number to a minimum
